shining is a girl, twenty, studying in the always exciting, sometimes charming, sometimes revolting (think pigeons and foul mouths) city of London, which she loves. born in the uk, she holds a malaysian passport, though all she knows of malaysia is good ipoh food and the joy of visiting relations during CNY and school holidays. but, if you ask "where do you come from?" as people like to do here in London, she'll tell you of how she sometimes misses sunny singapore, where she's spent most of her life thus far. tiny island it might be, but too many precious memories are hidden in its roads and places and trees for her to stay away too long.

she loves Jesus. and will always strive to live her life for Him alone. her faith and love, they spring from the hope that is stored up in heaven. (colossians 1) she hopes that in sharing a little of her life here, she can somehow point you to the one and only God she worships, and the kingdom of light that is promised, that she awaits. in the meantime, she is still only human, and together with her brothers and sisters in Christ, can only continue to work out her salvation in fear and trembling (phillippians 2:13), not in her own strength but by living in the Spirit and returning again and again to the astounding grace at the cross of Christ.
